Readr ("we," "our," or "us") is a micro-reading iOS app designed to help you build a gentle reading habit. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Readr app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Reading data: Your saved articles, reading progress, reading sessions (duration, segments read, time of day), and preferences. This data is stored locally on your device and may be synced to our servers if you use cloud features.
• Usage analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (e.g., screen views, feature usage). This helps us improve the app.
• Anonymous identifiers: We use Firebase Authentication with anonymous sign-in to associate your data with a unique identifier. This does not include your name, email, or other personal identifiers unless you provide them voluntarily (e.g., when submitting feedback).
• Feedback and support: If you submit feature requests or report issues, we collect the content you provide, along with your anonymous user ID, device platform, and app version.

3. Advertising

Readr may display ads powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and usage data to deliver relevant ads. In regions where required (e.g., EEA, UK), we show a consent form before requesting ads. We also comply with Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) and will request your permission before tracking you across apps and websites owned by other companies. You can change your ad preferences at any time in your device settings.

4. AI and Article Processing

When you add articles to Readr, we may process article content through AI services (e.g., for summarization or segmentation) to improve your reading experience. This processing is done in accordance with our data handling practices and the terms of our AI service providers.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your reading data is primarily stored on your device. When synced to the cloud, it is stored using Firebase (Google Cloud). We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Google (Firebase, AdMob) for analytics, auth, and advertising
• AI service providers for article processing
• Apple for in-app purchases and subscriptions
• Legal authorities when required by law

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your data
• Opt out of personalized advertising
• Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis
• Data portability

8. Children

Readr is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
